Although Nathan Keyfitz began working with Alumni many years earlier, the IIASA Society became a legal entity (Association) in 1993.  It was decided that it would be easier to organize contact between IIASA's many alumni across the world, and perhaps, in the future, set up national chapters, if there were a legal basis for the Society.. By establishing a network among all those who have worked and/or collaborated at IIASA we are serving you.. The Society has elected officers and as a legal association under Austrian law, statutes, available here in both the original German and in English..
